Both are Australian, both talk about distributed marketing, and both let a franchise partner do something locally without head office building it by hand. They are still not the same product, and a network could reasonably want both. Everything below comes from what each platform publishes about itself.
Taguchi is a marketing automation platform for owned channels. Amplaro is a local advertising platform. That single distinction explains almost every difference in the table below.
Owned channels are email, SMS, WhatsApp, push and web messaging. They are cheap, they are effective, and they only reach people whose contact details you already hold. That is a real and valuable job, and Taguchi has been doing it since 2009.
Paid local advertising is the other side. It reaches people who have never given you their details and may not know the store exists. It costs money per impression, it needs targeting and budget guardrails, and it is the only way a new store fills its catchment.
Most franchise networks eventually need both. If someone tells you one platform covers the whole funnel, read their feature list carefully.

Scroll the table sideways to see both columns.
Taguchi's column is taken from its own platform and franchise marketing pages, checked on 8 August 2026. If we have it wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
Your database is the asset. You have contact details for most of your customers, your repeat rate is the number that moves the business, and the gap is that you are not messaging them well or often enough.
New customers are the constraint. Stores in weak catchments cannot get seen, head office cannot build a campaign per site by hand, and partners are either doing nothing or doing something off brand.
There is a third answer that nobody selling software likes to give. If your problem is that head office is drowning in one off requests from partners, neither category fixes that on its own. What fixes it is deciding in advance which campaigns partners are allowed to run, and building those once.
Not really, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. Taguchi is a marketing automation platform for owned channels: email, SMS, WhatsApp, push and web messaging. Amplaro is a local advertising platform: Meta, Google Search, Google Demand Gen and Maps, plus print. The two sit on opposite sides of the same funnel. A network running both is a perfectly sensible setup.
Everything to do with messaging people you already have contact details for. Email and SMS campaigns, customer journeys, WhatsApp and LINE, push notifications, webforms and landing pages, and the customer data platform underneath all of it. Amplaro does none of that and has no plans to.
Buy advertising. Based on what Taguchi publishes about its own platform, it does not create Meta or Google campaigns, does not touch Google Business Profile or Maps, does not order print, and does not do geographic targeting. Amplaro is built entirely around those things, including fitting each campaign to a store's real delivery area rather than a radius.
Depends on the job in front of you. If the problem is talking to your existing database more effectively, you already have the tool. If the problem is that individual stores cannot get new customers in their own catchment without head office building every campaign by hand, that is a different tool and Taguchi does not claim to be it.
Distributed marketing means head office builds centrally and local operators activate. Both platforms do that. The difference is what gets activated. With Taguchi a partner localises a message going out to known contacts. With Amplaro a partner launches an ad campaign aimed at people who have never heard of them.
We have tried to make it so, and everything in the table comes from what each platform publishes about itself rather than from opinion. Taguchi is a well established Australian business, ISO 27001 certified, running since 2009, and it is good at what it does. If any of this is out of date, tell us and we will correct it.
If you are still working out what category you are shopping in, start with what a franchise marketing platform is.
